IQ 2.0 Soft Touch Side Spin Shaft Update

 

D&S has implemented an update to the IQ 2.0 Soft Touch side spin shaft assembly to improve reliability and standardize components across our product line.

 

Summary

Beginning with sales orders and units shipped in June 2026, the IQ 2.0 Soft Touch side spin shafts for Groschopp motors have been updated to incorporate larger threads and retaining nuts for improved durability.

 

This update replaces:

  • Previous Shaft: 10SHFT1027-KIT-INVOICE
  • New Shaft: 10SHFT1029-KIT-INVOICE

Please Note: This change has already been implemented in current production units.

Key Benefits

The updated shaft design provides:

  • More robust shaft retention
  • Commonized design with improvements made to other motor shafts
  • Improved expected service life

Installation Information

When installing the updated shaft:

  • The keyway must be installed onto the shaft before inserting the shaft into the bearing.
  • If necessary, a small drop of Loctite may be used to hold the keyway in place during assembly.

Please follow this procedure to ensure proper installation and long-term performance.

Service Information

For replacement or service of applicable IQ 2.0 Soft Touch side spin assemblies, use the updated shaft kit:

 

10SHFT1029-KIT-INVOICE

 

This updated shaft supersedes the previous shaft beginning with June 2026 production.
