IQ 2.0 Update: Communication Cable Upgrade

 

We are implementing an update to the IQ 2.0 system to improve communication reliability and overall performance.

 

Summary

Beginning March 2026, IQ 2.0 systems began shipping with an upgraded communication cable (WIR3005).


This cable is installed as a continuous, hardwired connection at both ends.

 

Please note: This change has already been implemented in current production units.

Background

The IQ MAX platform utilizes a grey IGUS-branded communication cable within the energy chain, providing communication between the carriage and pumpstand.

This cable has demonstrated:

  • Improved shielding coverage
  • Increased longevity
  • Enhanced noise immunity

Due to its superior performance, this same cable is now being used across all IQ 2.0 systems.

Key Changes & Installation Impact

Hardwired Configuration

  • The new cable does not support molded connectors
  • All installations require direct hardwiring
  • This aligns IQ 2.0 with current IQ MAX installation standards and improves long-term durability

Custom Cable Lengths (No Splicing)

  • Cable splicing is not recommended
  • Cable length is:
    • Specified at time of order
    • Custom cut per installation
    • Shipped separately from the energy chain

Installation Support Feature

  • A pull string is pre-installed in the energy chain
  • This allows for faster and easier cable routing during installation

Replacement for Existing Units

For IQ 2.0 systems built prior to this change:

  • Replacement cable should be WIR3005
  • Installers must:
    • Measure from carriage → through energy chain → to pumpstand
    • Order cable based on required length

Wiring Changes

  • Internal wire jacket colors differ from previous cable versions
  • Updated wiring diagrams are provided in:
    • Carriage cabinet
    • Pumpstand
